South Florida Furniture Stores

Furniture stores in South Florida collectively represent one of the most assorted furniture offerings in the United States, if not the world. Furniture in South Florida is so incredibly diverse, well, because the population of South Florida itself is extremely diverse. While Miami is a well-known melting pot – featuring large populations from the Caribbean, South America and Europe – other parts of South Florida – such as Ft. Lauderdale, Boca Raton and Palm Beach – are homes to many transplants from the northeast and Canada.  With such a diverse population, it’s no surprise why there so many different furniture stores, all offering a wide variety of furniture styles.

There are two other reasons why there are so many furniture stores in South Florida. First, South Florida is home to many world-renowned designers. These designers have provided clients throughout South Florida with unique designs, tailor-made just for them. By creating demand for unique products and designs, furniture stores have sprouted up to supply the demand. Second, overall population trends have further fueled demand for furniture in South Florida. Not only has the population of South Florida grown tremendously over the last thirty years, but the amount of wealth that has been transferred into South Florida as a result of macro shifts has truly been staggering. Given furniture’s correlation to growth in the general population as well as the real estate market, it’s no surprise why there’s been such an increase in the number of South Florida furniture stores.

At SoBe Furniture, we look to supply South Florida with a vast array of modern furniture and contemporary furniture, all at unbelievable prices. Contemporary Furniture in Miami

Contemporary furniture, as a furniture style, has proliferated itself throughout Miami and much of South Florida. But as contemporary furniture has grown in popularity in Miami, many consumers continue to ask the question: what’s the difference between modern and contemporary furniture?

In short, the widely accepted answer is that modern furniture is a static term which refers to a specific period of design (usually “Mid Century Modern”). Meanwhile contemporary furniture is a dynamic and ever-changing term which refers to furniture of “the here and now.” In practice however, contemporary furniture is typically distinguished by clean lines, gentle curves, and minimalist designs. Like modern furniture, contemporary furniture – especially in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Boca Raton and other parts of South Florida – heavily incorporates elements such as stainless steel, chrome, glass, and high-gloss lacquer. Specific wood finishes such as wenge, walnut, and white and specific fabric colors, such as white, gray, taupe, and black have dominated this decade’s contemporary furniture stylings.

It’s no secret why contemporary furniture has become so prominent in Miami and Miami furniture stores. Luxury condos and Miami seem to go hand-in-hand. And contemporary furniture, with its clean lines and minimalist designs, nicely complements the interiors of many of Miami’s luxury condos.

At SoBe Furniture we strive to deliver a full range of contemporary furniture at the lowest prices in South Florida. Once you see SoBe Furniture’s robust selection of contemporary furniture, we are confident that you will not only be able to design the home of your dreams, but do it within an affordable budget.

Modern Furniture in Boca Raton

Furniture stores in Boca Raton have traditionally, well, focused on more-traditional furniture. Lately however, there has been a growing trend among Boca Raton furniture stores to become ever-more modern, as the modern and contemporary styles that once were mostly contained in Miami have expanded north into Ft. Lauderdale and now into Boca Raton. Leading the pack of modern furniture stores in Boca Raton is of course SoBe Furniture.

Modern furniture is now becoming increasingly popular in Boca Raton for a number of reasons. One reason is that many designers who at one time focused their efforts exclusively in Miami have now expanded into the burgeoning Boca Raton furniture market. Given that many of these designers were already accustomed to designing around modern furniture, their influence began to push modern furniture into Boca Raton and Boca Raton’s furniture stores.

A surge in new developments and condo refreshes has also begun pushing modern furniture into Boca Raton and Boca Raton furniture stores. As with new developments in Miami, developers and construction companies began using materials, color schemes and elements that better complemented more-modern designs. Boca Raton furniture stores, responding to demand for more-modern furniture, have begun supplying modern and contemporary furniture to Boca Raton.

Lastly, the transplant population – especially from New York and parts of Canada, where modern furniture was already popular – has increased the demand for modern furniture in Boca Raton. As furniture stores in Boca Raton became aware of growing demand for modern furniture, they began stocking an increasing number of modern collections.

Of course, no furniture store serves Boca Raton with a better modern furniture selection than SoBe Furniture. If you take the time to fully explore the SoBe Furniture website, you’ll see why we’re one of Boca Raton’s most popular modern furniture stores!

        The Miami Furniture Scene

Miami has quickly grown to become an epicenter for furniture and furniture stores. In South Florida, but in particular Miami furniture stores are abundant and can be found in all sizes with varying product offerings. In general, furniture stores in Miami can be grouped into two distinct categories: Big Box chains and Boutique stores.

Big box chains – such as City Furniture, El Dorado and Rooms to Go – tend to focus their product offering towards the typical South Florida furniture shopper. They all offer a variety of styles – from Traditional and Tropical to Casual and Contemporary – and leverage their large showrooms, quick turnaround times and financing options as key selling points.

Boutique furniture stores meanwhile, are typically smaller furniture stores. But smaller does not necessarily mean worse, as some boutique furniture stores in Miami actually offer more products than their big box counterparts. The reason is that big box furniture stores are limited to offering what they can fit in their showrooms. While City Furniture and El Dorado have some showrooms approaching 100,000 square feet, nonetheless they are limited to selling what they can display.  Certain boutique furniture stores meanwhile – such as SoBe Furniture – effectively leverage the use of technology, catalogs, carefully chosen showroom furniture, and most importantly extremely knowledgeable furniture consultants, in order to present and sell over 10,000 furniture products.  Moreover, while certain stores in the Miami Design District also carry a similarly robust product offering, given the high cost of leasing in the Miami Design District, no other store can offer high quality modern and contemporary furniture in Miami for close to the price as SoBe Furniture!

We know the Miami furniture scene is full of choices, but if you take the time to fully explore the SoBe Furniture website, you’ll see why we’re one of the best furniture stores in Miami and South Florida.
